Abstract

Latar Belakang : Anosmia adalah hilangnya kemampuan indra penciuman sebagian atau seluruhnya. Anosmia terjadi karena ada perubahan persepsi bau akibat proses inflamasi pada sel-sel epitel hidung yang berfungsi sebagai penciuman normal. Anosmia mirip dengan infeksi virus saluran napas bagian atas (URTI) lainnya seperti flu biasa. Akan tetapi, sekarang anosmia sering dikaitkan sebagai salah satu tanda dan gejala awal COVID-19.
Tujuan Penelitian : Untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat kejadian anosmia pada pasien terkonfirmasi COVID-19.
Metode Penelitian : Sebuah Literature Review yang menggunakan tiga mesin pencarian artikel yaitu PubMed, Perpustakaan Cochrane, dan Google Scholar dengan rentang waktu 2020-2021. Terdapat sebanyak 3 artikel yang telah diidentifikasi yaitu menggunakan jenis penelitian cross sectional.
Hasil Penelitian : Berdasarkan hasil ketiga jurnal yang diperoleh dari 724 responden yang terkonfirmasi COVID-19 didapatkan hasil bahwa karakteristik responden yang terkonfirmasi COVID-19 sebagian besar rata-rata berusia antara 36-40 tahun dan lebih banyak responden yang berjenis kelamin perempuan dibandingkan dengan laki-laki. Besarnya kejadian anosmia pada pasien terkonfirmasi COVID 19 pada jurnal pertama dan kedua sebesar (85,6%-88,8%), sedangkan pada jurnal ketiga sebesar (42,9%). Ketiga jurnal tersebut menunjukkan hasil yang tinggi mengenai besarnya kejadian
anosmia pada pasien terkonfirmasi COVID-19 sehingga anosmia memiliki nilai prediktif positif yang tinggi untuk mengidentifikasi COVID-19.
Kesimpulan : Terdapat hasil yang tinggi mengenai kejadian anosmia pada pasien terkonfirmasi COVID-19 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa anosmia dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan pertimbangan tanda dan gejala tambahan untuk COVID-19.

Background : Anosmia is a partial or complete loss of the sense of smell. Anosmia occurs because there is a change in smell perception due to the inflammatory process in the nasal epithelial cells that function as normal smell. Anosmia is similar to other upper respiratory tract viral infections (URTI) such as the common cold. However, now anosmia is often associated as one of the early signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
Research Objectives : To find out whether there is anosmia in patients with confirmed COVID-19.
Research Methods : A Literature Review using three article search engines namely PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar with a time span of 2020-2021. There are as many as 3 articles that have been identified using cross sectional research.
Research Results : Based on the results of three journals obtained from 724 respondents who were confirmed to have COVID-19, it was found that the characteristics of respondents who were confirmed to have COVID-19 were mostly between the ages of 36-40 years and more respondents are women than men. The magnitude of the incidence of anosmia in
patients with confirmed COVID 19 in the first and second journals was (85.6%-88.8%), while in the third journal it was (42.9%). The three journals showed high results regarding the high incidence of anosmia in patients with confirmed COVID-19 so that anosmia has a high positive predictive value to identify COVID-19.
Conclusion : There are high results regarding the incidence of anosmia in patients with confirmed COVID-19 so it can be concluded that anosmia can be used as a consideration for additional signs and symptoms for COVID-19.
