Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a problem that can interfere with the development of infants. Exclusive breastfeeding is one of the factors that can affect the incidence of stunting because the nutrients contained in breast milk are one of the important factors that determine the period of growth and development of children. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between stunting in toddlers aged 24-36 months based on a history of exclusive breastfeeding. And also several other variables such as, mother's age, mother's educational status, mother's employment status, family income, history of LBW, gender of toddlers. Materials and methods: This type of research is a quantitative descriptive correlational research with a cross sectional approach. Sampling using purposive sampling technique with the slovin formula, the number of 141 respondents. The research instrument used a questionnaire and a microtoise/meter tape, as well as the help of the WHO Anthro application. Bivariate analysis using Chi square with alternative fisher exact test Results: There is a relationship history of exclusive breastfeeding on the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-26 with a weak relationship. Another variable that has a relationship with family income and history of LBW. Conclusion: Families are prepared to be able to provide exclusive breastfeeding, monitoring fetal weight during pregnancy and family financial management to meet the nutritional needs of the family.
