Abstract

Penggunaan gawai membawa banyak sekali kemudahan bagi remaja, misalnya untuk mencari penjelasan tambahan mengenai pelajaran di sekolah melalui laman pencarian internet, berinteraksi dengan teman bahkan yang berbeda pulau via sosial media, atau sekedar menghilangkan kebosanan dengan bermain game online. Namun, di balik kemudahan-kemudahan tersebut ada dampak negatif yang mengintai seperti konten-konten pornografi, konten kekerasan, rentan terkena kecanduan gawai, fokus belajar menurun, hingga terganggunya kesehatan mental. Oleh karena itu, peneliti ingin mengetahui gambaran penggunaan gawai dan gejala gangguan kesehatan mental remaja di SMA Negeri 1 Palangka Raya. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan sampel sejumlah 99 orang. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner berbentuk google form. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu siswa dengan gejala gangguan mental sebanyak 83 orang (83,8%), tingkat penggunaan gawai paling banyak pada kategori sedang dengan jumlah 92 orang (92,9%), responden terbanyak berjenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak 78 orang (78,8%), tingkatan kelas paling banyak berpartisipasi terdapat pada kelas XI sebanyak 62 orang (62,6%), dan durasi tidur paling banyak adalah kategori kurang dari sehat atau tidur <8-9 jam per hari sebanyak 56 orang (56,6%). Kesimpulan pada penelitian yaitu ternyata responden dengan gejala gangguan mental cukup banyak sedangkan penggunaan gawai masih dalam kategori sedang.

The use of gadgets brings a lot of convenience for teenagers, for example to find additional explanations about lessons at school through internet search pages, interacting with friends and even from different islands via social media, or simply eliminating boredom by playing online games. However, behind these conveniences there are negative impacts that threaten them, such as pornographic content, violent content, vulnerability to gadget addiction, decreased focus on learning, and mental health disorders. Therefore, the researcher wanted to know the description of the use of gadgets and the symptoms of mental health disorders of adolescents in SMA Negeri 1 Palangka Raya. The research method is descriptive quantitative with a sample of 99 people. Data was collected through a questionnaire in the form of a google form. The results of this study were students with symptoms of mental disorders as many as 83 people (83.8%), the highest level of use of gadgets was in the moderate category with 92 people (92.9%), the most respondents were female as many as 78 people (78.8 %), the most participating class levels were in class XI as many as 62 people (62.6%), and the most sleep duration was in the less than healthy category or sleep in <8-9 hours per day as many as 56 people (56.6%). The conclusion of the study is that there are quite a lot of respondents with symptoms of mental disorders while the use of gadgets is still in the moderate category.
