Abstract

Latar Belakang : Kanker payudara merupakan penyebab utama kematian akibat kanker pada perempuan dan prevalensinya terus meningkat di Indonesia. Tingginya angka kematian disebabkan oleh keterlambatan deteksi dini karena sebagian besar penderita datang pada stadium lanjut. Pemeriksaan Payudara Sendiri (SADARI) merupakan metode deteksi dini yang sederhana, murah, dan efektif, namun tingkat pengetahuan dan kesadaran remaja putri masih rendah. Edukasi kesehatan menggunakan media audio visual dinilai lebih efektif dibandingkan metode konvensional dan perlu diterapkan di lingkungan sekolah. Tujuan : Mengetahui efektivitas pendidikan kesehatan menggunakan media audio visual terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap SADARI pada remaja putri di SMP Katolik Santo Paulus Kecamatan Jekan Raya. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimental dengan one group pretest–posttest design. Subjek penelitian adalah remaja putri di SMP Katolik Santo Paulus Kecamatan Jekan Raya. Pengukuran pengetahuan dan sikap SADARI dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pemberian pendidikan kesehatan menggunakan media audio visual. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed- Rank Test. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan dan sikap remaja putri setelah diberikan edukasi menggunakan media audio visual. Pengetahuan kategori baik meningkat dari 39,39% menjadi 89,39%, dan sikap positif meningkat dari 25,76% menjadi 100%. Uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan perbedaan pengetahuan yang bermakna secara statistik (p < 0,05). Namun, perubahan sikap tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan secara statistik. Kesimpulan : Pendidikan kesehatan menggunakan media audio visual efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan SADARI pada remaja putri, namun belum terbukti signifikan dalam mengubah sikap. Kata Kunci : SADARI, media audio visual, pengetahuan, sikap, remaja putridukungan keluarga ABSTRACT Background: Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality among women, and its prevalence continues to increase in Indonesia. The high mortality rate is largely attributed to delayed early detection, as most patients seek medical care at an advanced stage. Breast Self-Examination (BSE) is a simple, low-cost, and effective method for early detection; however, the level of knowledge and awareness among adolescent girls remains low. Health education using audiovisual media is considered more effective than conventional methods and should be implemented in school settings. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of health education using audiovisual media on knowledge and attitudes toward Breast Self- Examination among adolescent girls at Santo Paulus Catholic Junior High School, Jekan Raya District. Method: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one- group pretest–posttest approach. The study subjects were adolescent girls at Santo Paulus Catholic Junior High School, Jekan Raya District. Knowledge and attitudes toward BSE were measured before and after the delivery of health education using audiovisual media. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Results: The findings showed a significant increase in knowledge and attitudes toward BSE among adolescent girls after the audiovisual-based education. The proportion of respondents with good knowledge increased from 39.39% to 89.39%, and positive attitudes increased from 25.76% to 100%. The Wilcoxon test indicated a statistically significant difference in knowledge (p < 0.05); however, the change in attitudes was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Health education using audiovisual media is effective in improving knowledge of Breast Self-Examination among adolescent girls but has not been proven to significantly change attitudes.
