Abstract
Background: Space Occupying Lesion (SOL) is an intracranial lesion that can increase intracranial pressure and cause neurological disorders. Post-craniotomy patients commonly experience acute pain requiring proper nursing care. Objective: To describe nursing care for post-craniotomy SOL patients with acute pain. Methods: This study used a case study design on one SOL post-craniotomy patient at RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin from April 16–18, 2026. Data were collected through interviews, observation, physical examination, and medical documentation. Results: The patient experienced surgical pain with a pain scale of 7–10 (NRS) and right extremity weakness. Nursing diagnoses included Acute Pain and Impaired Physical Mobility. Interventions for 3 days included pain management, deep breathing relaxation, vital sign monitoring, 30° head elevation, and analgesic collaboration. Evaluation showed pain decreased to 3–4 and the patient appeared more comfortable. Conclusion: Nursing care for post-craniotomy SOL patients was effective in reducing pain and improving patient comfort. Keywords: Nursing Care, SOL, Craniotomy, Acute Pain.
