Background: Do the maintenance management of DM is an effort to keep the blood sugar level of patient in normal condition in order to prevent complication which could lead to severe condition. Do the management of DM need a healthy behaviour from the patient of DM and one of them is motivation. Factor that influence self motivation in doing DM management consists of age, gender, education level, occupation, marital status and the term DM. Purpose: Knowing the Correlation of Self Motivation on Doing DM Management with Blood Sugar Level of DM Patient Type II in Outpatients Internal Disease Instalation Polyclinic of dr. Doris Sylvanus Hospital in Palangka Raya. Method: The research uses descriptive correlational with cross sectional as research design. Sampling technique use for this research is purposive sampling. The amount of respondents in this research are 40 people. Data collection technique use in this research are questionnaire and value of GDS from Laboratory result in patient’s status book. Statistic exam of the research uses chi square Result: The result of statistic analysis is known that self motivation on patient exist ini poor category i.e. around 32 people (80%), blood sugar level occur in high category i.e. around 26 people (65%) with p value 0,001 (p<0,05). Conclusion: There is a significant correlation between self motivation on doing DM management with blood sugar level of DM patient type II in outpatient internal disease instalation Polyclinic of dr. Doris Sylvanus Hospital in Palangka Raya.
