Abstract

Background :Diabetes mellitus is one of the non-contagious diseases that will increase in the future, diabetes mellitus is one of the main threats to the health of humanity in the 21st century. The United Nations or WHO estimates that in 2000 the number of people with diabetes in for 20 years there are 150 million people and within the next 25 years, by 2025, that number will swell to 300 million. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one chronic disease (chronic disease) that is chronic with increasing prevalence. The results of Riskesdas 2013. The prevalence of Type 2 DM in the elderly increased from 3.7% in 2007 to 4.8% in 2014. The results of Susensas in 2014, the number of elderly people in Indonesia reached 20.24 million. The elderly morbidity rate of 2014 of 25.05% means that about one in four elderly have experienced pain in the past month. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to the quality of life of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.The results of this study should be used as an intervention that can be used to manage diets in people with diabetes mellitus which can not only be done by nutritionists, but can also be done by nurses, because the role of nurses is one of them as an educator. Aim:To find out nursing care in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus includes the assessment, intervention, implementation, and evaluation of nursing. Results:After a 3 x 24 hour nursing action was obtained the patient's nutritional needs have not been met, the patient's fatigue has not been met, the patient's sleep needs can be met, the patient's knowledge increases about the illness suffered. Conclusion :Cooperation between health and patient or family teams is essential for the success of nursing care in patients. Keywords : Diabetes Mellitus
