Abstract
Background: Birth weight consisted of normal birth weight, LBW, LBWR, BBLSAR and large infants. Based on data obtained at the BLUD RSUD dr. Doris Sylvanus Palangka Raya is known to have an increase in the birth of large babies in 2016 - October 2018. One indicator that can be assessed as the influence on the birth weight of the baby is the mother's blood sugar level. Mothers who have good glycemic control during pregnancy have a reduction in the risk of macrosomia, LBW, SC delivery.
Research Objective: Knowing the relationship between blood sugar levels of pregnant women and birth weight.
Research Methods: The study design used cross-sectional, with 40 samples of maternity mothers. This study was conducted in February to April 2019. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman correlation test.
Research Results: The Spearman Correlation Test obtained r = 0.476 or the relationship between blood sugar levels of pregnant women with birth weight at the level of moderate and positive patterns of relationships or the higher the blood sugar level of pregnant women, the more weight the baby was born. P = 0.002 or there is a significant relationship between blood sugar levels of pregnant women with birth weight.
Conclusion: There is a relationship between blood sugar levels of pregnant women with birth weight.
