Abstract

Stunting is a health problem that must get special attention because it not only affects the size of height but also affects human quality. Indonesia is the fifth largest country with the number of stunted children in the world. Stunting is not only caused by food intake that is not by needs and recurrent infectious diseases but also influenced by parenting, food availability at the household level, and environmental sanitation. STBM/ Community-Led Total Sanitation( CLTS) is a government effort carried out as an effort to minimize environmental sanitation problems in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the effect of STBM application on households on stunting in the Bukit Rawi Kabupaten Pulang Pisau Community Health Center area. This study is an observational analytic study with a case-control design. Analyzed using Chi-Square Test. The STBM pillars that will be investigated consist of Pillar 1 Open defecation free (ODF) communities; Pillar 2, Handwashing with soap at critical moments, Pillar 3, Household water treatment and safe storage of water and food, Pillar 4 Solid waste management; and Pillar 5 Liquid waste management. The subjects in this study consisted of 27 toddlers each. The results of Chi-Square analysis showed that there was a significant relationship in the application of Pillar 2 (p-value 0.027), Pillar 3 (p-value 0.012), and Pillar 3 (p-value 0.024) with stunting. But Pillar 1 (p-value 0.586) and Pillar 5 (0.170) there is no significant relationship to the incidence of stunting. It is conclude that there is a relationship between the application of Pillar 2, Pillar 3 and Pillar 4 STBM to the stunting incident in the working area of the Bukit Rawi Health Center, Pulang Pisau Regency.
