Abstract

Feeding is the main initial cause of malnutrition in toddlers caused by wrong feeding practices. One of the direct causes of stunting is food intake, so the program implemented by the government is to provide education on the Fill My Plate movement. The purpose of this education is to regulate food composition with portions that are in accordance with the recommendations. As an effort to overcome the problem of giving wrong food to children, it is necessary to carry out education to increase mother's knowledge, namely by using my plate as a media for nutrition education. This study aims to analyze the effect of education using my plate filled teaching aids on the knowledge and skills of toddler mothers regarding child feeding at the Posyandu in Ipu Mea Village. Using the type of research that is Pre-Experimental with the research design used One Group Pre Test – Post Test Design. The sample in this study were mothers with toddlers aged 0 months – 3 years, the statistical analysis used was test Mc Nemar. The results of this study showed that most of the respondents were in the age group between the ages of 19-29 by 66.67%, most of the respondents were in high school education by 53.33% and most of the respondents worked as housewives 73.33%. There was an increase in the knowledge and skills of mothers under five after being given interventions, test resultsMc Nemar show knowledge (p= 0,002) and skills (p= 0,016). The conclusion is that there is an influence of my plate content props on the knowledge and skills of toddler mothers.
