Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pertumbuhan penduduk Indonesia terus meningkat sehingga diperlukan program Keluarga Berencana (KB) untuk menekan angka kelahiran dan kematian ibu. Salah satu metode kontrasepsi jangka panjang yang efektif adalah Intra Uterine Device (IUD), namun penggunaannya masih rendah, baik secara nasional (9,68%) maupun di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Kereng Bangkirai (0,85%–0,97%). Rendahnya penggunaan IUD dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor seperti pengetahuan, dukungan suami, komunikasi pasangan, dan faktor risiko lainnya. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan, dukungan suami, komunikasi pasangan, dan faktor risiko lainnya dengan pemilihan penggunaan kontrasepsi IUD. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitatif analitik dengan pendekatan case control, melibatkan 60 responden yang terdiri dari 30 kasus dan 30 kontrol dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Chi-Square serta Odds Ratio (OR). Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan signifikan antara pendidikan ibu (p=0,045), pendidikan suami (p=0,001), pekerjaan suami (p=0,015), riwayat kontrasepsi (p=0,007), pengetahuan ibu (p=0,001; OR=46,0), pengetahuan suami (p=0,024; OR=2,2), dukungan suami (p=0,001; OR=2,5), serta komunikasi pasangan (p=0,010; OR=4,9) dengan pemilihan penggunaan kontrasepsi IUD, sedangkan umur, pekerjaan ibu, paritas, dan jumlah anak tidak berhubungan signifikan (p>0,05). Kesimpulan: Pengetahuan, dukungan suami, dan komunikasi pasangan berhubungan signifikan dengan pemilihan kontrasepsi IUD, dengan pengetahuan ibu sebagai faktor paling dominan. One of the most effective long-term contraceptive methods is the Intrauterine Device (IUD); however, its utilization remains low both nationally (9.68%) and in the working area of Kereng Bangkirai Public Health Center (0.85%–0.97%). This low utilization is influenced by various factors, including knowledge, husband’s support, spousal communication, and other risk factors. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge, husband’s support, spousal communication, and other risk factors and the use of IUD contraception. Methods: This study employed an analytical quantitative design with a case-control approach, involving 60 respondents consisting of 30 cases and 30 controls selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-square test and Odds Ratio (OR). Results: The results revealed significant relationships between maternal education (p=0.045), husband’s education (p=0.001), husband’s occupation (p=0.015), contraceptive history (p=0.007), maternal knowledge (p=0.001; OR=46.0), husband’s knowledge (p=0.024; OR=2.2), husband’s support (p=0.001; OR=2.5), and spousal communication (p=0.010; OR=4.9) and the use of IUD contraception, while maternal age, husband’s age, maternal occupation, parity, and number of children were not significantly associated (p>0.05). Conclusion: Knowledge, husband’s support, and spousal communication are significantly associated with the use of IUD contraception, with maternal knowledge identified as the most dominant factor.
