Abstract

Rendahnya cakupan ASI eksklusif di Kelurahan Tumbang Marikoi (4,8%) menunjukkan masih terbatasnya pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat yang dipengaruhi oleh mitos serta kurangnya edukasi kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas kelas storytelling “Bakesah” terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat tentang pemberian ASI eksklusif. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif pra-eksperimen dengan pendekatan one group pretest-posttest design pada 36 responden pasangan usia subur. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner pengetahuan dan sikap, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum intervensi sebagian besar responden berada pada kategori pengetahuan kurang dan cukup, sedangkan setelah intervensi sebagian besar berada pada kategori baik. Pada variabel sikap, sebelum intervensi masih terdapat responden dengan sikap negatif, sedangkan setelah intervensi hampir seluruh responden memiliki sikap positif. Hasil uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test menunjukkan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05) pada variabel pengetahuan dan sikap, sehingga terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan Kelas Storytelling “BAKESAH” terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat tentang pemberian ASI eksklusif. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah Kelas Storytelling “BAKESAH” efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat tentang pemberian ASI eksklusif melalui pendekatan edukasi berbasis budaya lokal. The low exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Tumbang Marikoi Village (4.8%) indicates limited public knowledge and attitudes influenced by myths and a lack of health education. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the "Bakesah" storytelling class in improving public knowledge and attitudes regarding exclusive breastfeeding. This study used a quantitative pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design among 36 respondents of childbearing age. Data were collected using knowledge and attitude questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed that before the intervention, most respondents had poor and moderate levels of knowledge, while after the intervention most respondents were categorized as having good knowledge. In terms of attitudes, before the intervention there were still respondents with negative attitudes, whereas after the intervention almost all respondents had positive attitudes. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) for both knowledge and attitude variables, indicating that the “BAKESAH” Storytelling Class had a significant effect on community knowledge and attitudes regarding exclusive breastfeeding. The conclusion of this study is that the “BAKESAH” Storytelling Class is effective in improving community knowledge and attitudes regarding exclusive breastfeeding through a local culture-based educational approach..
