Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penggunaan media sosial, khususnya Instagram, telah menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari kehidupan mahasiswi generasi produktif. Mahasiswi kebidanan berada pada kelompok wanita usia subur (WUS) dengan tuntutan aktivitas akademik yang tinggi, mulai dari teori hingga praktik klinis, sehingga membutuhkan fungsi kognitif yang optimal. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan Instagram dengan fungsi kognitif wanita usia subur pada mahasiswi di Poltekkes Kemenkes Palangka Raya. Metode: Penulisan penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan non-probability sampling dengan pendekatan Purposive sampling. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 155 mahasiswi Jurusan Kebidanan Poltekkes Kemenkes Palangka Raya yang aktif menggunakan Instagram. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur variabel meliputi kuesioner Instagram Intensity Scale (IIS) untuk mengukur tingkat intensitas penggunaan media sosial dan Stroop Test untuk mengukur fungsi kognitif responden. Hasil: Prevalensi intensitas penggunaan Instagram menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden berada pada kategori intensitas penggunaan sedang sebanyak 94 responden (60,6%), diikuti kategori tinggi sebanyak 38 responden (24,5%), dan kategori rendah sebanyak 23 responden (14,8%). Tingkat fungsi kognitif responden menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki fungsi kognitif kategori baik sebanyak 77 responden (49,7%), kategori sedang sebanyak 51 responden (32,9%), dan kategori buruk sebanyak 27 responden (17,4%). Hasil uji statistik menggunakan Pearson Chi-Square diperoleh nilai χ² = 11,625 dengan p-value = 0,020 (p < 0,05). Diskusi: Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara intensitas penggunaan Instagram dengan fungsi kognitif pada wanita usia subur mahasiswi di Poltekkes Kemenkes Palangka Raya. Background: The use of social media, particularly Instagram, has become an inseparable part of the lives of productive-age female students. Midwifery students fall into the category of women of reproductive age (WRA) who face high academic demands, ranging from theoretical studies to clinical practice, thereby requiring optimal cognitive function. Objective: This study aims to analyze the correlation between the intensity of Instagram use and the cognitive function of women of reproductive age among students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Palangka Raya. Methods: This study employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling approach. The respondents consisted of 155 midwifery students at the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Palangka Raya who actively used Instagram. The instruments used included the Instagram Intensity Scale (IIS) questionnaire to measure the intensity of social media use and the Stroop Test to assess respondents’ cognitive function. Results: The prevalence of Instagram usage intensity showed that the majority of respondents were in the moderate usage category, with 94 respondents (60.6%), followed by the high usage category with 38 respondents (24.5%), and the low usage category with 23 respondents (14.8%). The respondents cognitive function levels indicated that most respondents had good cognitive function, accounting for 77 respondents (49.7%), followed by moderate cognitive function with 51 respondents (32.9%), and poor cognitive function with 27 respondents (17.4%). The results of the statistical analysis using the Pearson Chi-Square test revealed a value of χ² = 11.625 with a p-value of 0.020 (p < 0.05). Discussion: The findings indicate a significant relationship between the intensity of Instagram use and cognitive function among women of reproductive age who are midwifery students at the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Palangka Raya.
