Abstract

Pendahuluan: Pemilihan tempat persalinan di fasilitas kesehatan merupakan salah satu upaya untuk menurunkan angka kematian ibu dan bayi. Namun, masih terdapat ibu yang memilih melahirkan di non fasilitas kesehatan. Keputusan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh persepsi ibu terhadap risiko, manfaat, dan hambatan berdasarkan Health Belief Model (HBM). Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan persepsi risiko, manfaat, dan hambatan dengan keputusan ibu dalam memilih tempat persalinan di Wilayah Kerja UPT Puskesmas Mandomai. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 70 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik consecutive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabilitas, kemudian dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-Square, Odds Ratio (OR), dan 95% Confidence Interval (CI). Hasil: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara persepsi risiko (p=0,005; OR=4,222; 95% CI=1,522–11,710), persepsi manfaat (p=0,017; OR=3,231; 95% CI=1,214–8,600), dan persepsi hambatan (p=0,002; OR=4,725; 95% CI=1,713–13,033) dengan keputusan ibu dalam memilih tempat persalinan. Persepsi hambatan merupakan variabel yang memiliki hubungan paling kuat. Diskusi: Persepsi risiko, manfaat, dan hambatan berhubungan dengan keputusan ibu dalam memilih tempat persalinan. Peningkatan edukasi kepada ibu hamil dan keluarga mengenai risiko persalinan, manfaat persalinan di fasilitas kesehatan, serta upaya mengurangi hambatan akses pelayanan kesehatan diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemanfaatan fasilitas kesehatan sebagai tempat persalinan. Introduction: Choosing a health facility as the place of childbirth is one of the important strategies to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates. However, some mothers still choose to give birth outside health facilities. This decision is influenced by mothers' perceptions of risk, benefits, and barriers based on the Health Belief Model (HBM). This study aimed to analyze the relationship between perceived risk, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers and mothers' decisions in choosing the place of childbirth in the working area of UPT Puskesmas Mandomai. Methods: This study employed a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 70 respondents selected using a consecutive sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test, Odds Ratio (OR), and 95% Confidence Interval (CI). Results: The results showed significant relationships between perceived risk (p=0.005; OR=4.222; 95% CI=1.522–11.710), perceived benefits (p=0.017; OR=3.231; 95% CI=1.214–8.600), and perceived barriers (p=0.002; OR=4.725; 95% CI=1.713–13.033) and mothers' decisions in choosing the place of childbirth. Perceived barriers were identified as the variable with the strongest association. Discussion: Perceived risk, perceived benefits, and perceived barriers were associated with mothers' decisions in choosing the place of childbirth. Improving health education for pregnant women and their families regarding the risks of childbirth, the benefits of giving birth in health facilities, and efforts to reduce barriers to accessing health services is expected to increase the utilization of health facilities as the preferred place of childbirth.
