Abstract
Saplianus, Dewin. 2018. The relationship of stres and the increase of blood sugar levels in diabetes melitus client type 2 at the work area of Puskesmas Bukit Hindu in Palangka Raya City. Background: WHO predict the existence of the increase in the number of diabetes patients in Indonesia from 8,4 million in 2000 becomes about 21,3 million in 2030 and the prediction of the increase in a year about 710 thousand a year, even Indonesia is ranked fourth as the number of the most diabetes melitus sufferers in the world. Stres is the body and mind diabetics can control their blood sugar levels so that it does not cause complications that may make the disease is getting worse. Aim: To know the relationship of stres and the increase of blood sugar levels in diabetes melitus client type 2 at the work area of Puskesmas Bukit Hindu in Palangka Raya City. Method: This research used descriptive correlational with the research planning used crossectional. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The research respondents amounted to 30 people. The data retrieval used questionnaires and noted the GDS value. The statistical tests used Chi-square test. Result: The result of the statistical analysis known that light stres with increased blood glucose levels during found significant result/contained relationship with P-value 0,012 or < 0,05 is about 13 people (76,5%) and clients with heavy stres are at risk with value of OR (Odds Ratio) 7,3 is 4 people (30,8%) to have elevated blood glucose. Conclusion: there is a relationship of stres and the increase of blood sugar levels in diabetes melitus client type 2 at work area of Puskesmas Bukit Hindu in Palangka Raya City.
