Abstract
Background: In 2018, the prevalence of chronic kidney failure in Indonesia increased by 713,783. Patients with chronic kidney disease who receive hemodialysis should ensure they do not consume too much fluid and sodium to prevent hypertension, acute pulmonary edema, congestive heart failure, and other cardiovascular diseases. Objective: Knowing the differences in sodium and fluid intake in patients with chronic renal failure who undergo hemodialysis with different frequencies at RSUD dr. Doris Sylvanus Palangka Raya. Research method: This study was conducted on March 12-April 17, 2024, data collection with a cross sectional approach. Sodium and fluid intake data were obtained from 24-hour food records for 2 days. Data analysis was carried out by describing the research variables presented in the form of a distribution table. Results and Discussion: Samples aged 35-45 years were 4 people, 46-55 years were 3 people, 56-65 years were 3 people. The sample was male as many as 5 people and female as many as 5 people. The average nutritional status of patients is normal. The average sodium intake of samples undergoing hemodialysis with different frequencies is above the needs. This is because the sample does not limit eating salty foods. There is a deficit in fluid intake due to fluid restrictions for chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis.. Conclusion: The average sodium intake of the samples was above the requirement and the average fluid intake of the samples was in deficit.
