Abstract
Background: Dysmenorrhea is a problem that is very disturbing for some teenagers, the impact of primarydysmenorrhea in teenagers is not concentrating in class, and not being able to attend school causing a decrease in academic achievement, the incidence of dysmenorrhea is quite high, in Malaysia reaching 69.4%, Thailand 84.2% inIndonesia the incidence of dysmenorrhea is 64.25%. The prevalence and morbidity rates for dysmenorrhea are quite high and receive little attention from the world of health. Factors that influence primary dysmenorrhoea in adolescent girls are menstrual cycle, menstrual duration, family history, physical activity and nutritional status. Objective: The research aims to analyze factors related to the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls at SMAN 3 Palangka Raya City.Method: Quantitative research and analytical survey with a cross sectional design, the sample in this study was 238 female students with and without dysmenorrhea. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: Based on the results of univariate analysis, it was found that 145 female students (60.9%) experienced primary dysmenorrhea, while around 93 female students (39.1%) did not experience primary dysmenorrhea, based on the results of the chi square test, there was a significant relationship between the menstrual cycle, p-value 0.000, Length of menstruation p-value 0.000, Family history p�value 0.001, Physical activity p-value 0.000, nutritional status p-value 0.000 with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea. Suggestion: it is recommended that teenagers maintain a healthy diet by avoiding fast food, and do heavy physical activity to release endorphin hormones as a natural sedative and reduce dysmenorrhea pain, and for education as a literature reference, for the community as a source of information, for future researchers It is hoped that we can explore other factors that cause primary dysmenorrhea.
